February 19-21st, Presidents Day Week

Highlights from our Week
*    We talked about American Symbols, looked at pictures and read stories about them. (Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell, American Flag, White House, Eagle).
*    We made American Flags with Popsicle sticks.  We painted them Wednesday and then finished them Friday.
*    We made graham cracker American Flags for our food experience.
*    We had yummy snacks! Thank you!
*    We played Alphabet review games, like matching uppercase with lowercase and Alphabet Soup recognition game (name the letter, its sound and a word that starts with the letter).
*    We practiced number review with a worksheet.
*    The weather was so nice on Friday we went outside for some sidewalk chalk time.
*    I got out the stencils during Fridays playtime and all the kids loved them.  I thought they would be too hard, but the kids did so well using colored pens and stencils.  A definite must more often.
*    We practiced the Pledge of Allegiance so that we could  show our parents that we know it so well.  Cute pictures!
*  Most of all, we had fun together, learning, reading, playing and eating!
See you All Monday for another great week,
Miss Heidi
