Leter N Week
February 4th-8th
On Monday, I introduced the Letter N and its sound. We made our letter N Poster with all things N. Letter N is for Nail, Nest, Nemo, Note, Newspaper, Nine, Nickel and Noodles. We sang our letter N song. Let's sing hurray for "N".
For our science experiment we cooked spaghetti noodles and then soaked them in colored water.
The colors we chose were red, green and blue.
It worked, the noodles turned colors.
And then of course we wanted to eat them. Wouldn't you?
On Wednesday, we learned how to write uppercase and lowercase N. N is for necklace and this is our weekly alphabet page to go in our alphabet book.
For our food experience, we made homemade soft pretzels in the shape of Letter N. Some children wanted the traditional knot. We made the dough, let it rise, then we made the shape, let it rise, then we baked them and then we buttered and salted them. All I can say is YUM! The preschool smelled delicious all day long.
We read a I Spy Hearts Valentine book and made heart suncatchers with glitter, paper hearts, hugs and kisses confetti and heart sequins.
They sure look cute in the window. They will look even better once the sun comes out! Sun, Where are you?
This week we also learned about the number four. We sang songs about the number four. We watched old Sesame Street videos on youtube about the number four. We counted to four. We watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Numbers. We made a N necklace and our job was to count four cheerios then put a bead. Count four cheerios put a bead. No picture. They were awesome though.
What a great week. Next week is all about Valentines Day and Valentines Fun. We will read Valentine stories, play Valentines Games, do Valentine Crafts and art projects. Oh, and eat Valentine snacks and Party! Our Valentines Party is on Wednesday. And of course parents are welcome to come help out. Our party will start around 10:00 a.m. Let me know so I have a count if you want to come.
Thanks for all the wonderful snacks, its our favorite part of the day. I love my job! I love your children! I feel lucky, so thank you.
Sincerely,
Miss Heidi
