Letter O Week February 25th-March 1st

Letter O Week

-We learned the letter O, its sound, uppercase and lowercase and how to write it.
-We made our Letter O poster with all things O.
-We sang our Letter O song.
-We checked out starfall.com and the Letter O

-For snack we had a chocolate Orange with Orange carrots, Orange Julius' that we made for our food experience, orange cheese and orange goldfish.

-We made our handprint alphabet page for our book.  This is letter O.  Letter O is for Octapus.

-This week we also talked and learned a lot about all different kinds of weather.  This is our science experiment.  The white stuff is shaving cream.  We put food coloring on top of the shaving cream (clouds), then the clouds get too heavy and release the food coloring (rain) and it rains.

-We made a weather mobile.  We learned about snow, thunder, lightning, rain, sun, clouds and tornados and wind.  We sang a fun weather song to the tune of Bingo.
There was a day when it was hot and sunny was the weather
S-U-N-N-Y
S-U-N-N-Y
S-U-N-N-Y
and sunny was the weather.
Other versus.
There was a day when is was cold and snowy was the weather.
There was a day when it was wet and rainy was the weather.
There was a day when I was blown and windy was the weather.

-Just for fun we planted wheat grass for St. Patricks Day decorations.
-We also made some very glittery, shiny, shamrocks for our class room bulletin boards.

-These are the books we read this week all about weather.
-We also learned everyday about the number 5 and how to identify it and write it and count it.
-We celebrated Mr. L's birthday on Wednesday, Yeah! We love parties.
-We had very yummy snacks, like yogurt covered raisins, cupcakes, sunchips, cheese, lightsaber pretzels.  We are so lucky. We have so much fun at preschool.

Next week we will learn all about  Letter P.  Im thinking we will make personal pizzas for snack on Friday for our food experience.  It is also Penguin Week.  We will sing fun Penguins songs and read great Penguins stories.  And learn interesting facts about Penguins. We will also learn about the number 6 and of course all things letter P. See you then,
Miss Heidi
